由Annals of Cardiothoracic Surgery (ACS) 、Journal of Thoracic Disease (JTD)杂志主办，COVIDIEN公司协办的第二届ACS-JTD-COVIDIEN 创世智能胸腔镜肺段／袖式切除手术录像大赛于7月9日落下帷幕。本次大赛邀请国内外胸腔镜领域的知名专家担任评委，对每一个手术视频进行打分，在评审们谨慎认真的比较下，最终比赛结果已见分晓。点击阅读原文即可欣赏参赛作品。
Annals of Cardiothoracic Surgery (《心胸外科年鉴》；简称ACS杂志; ISSN 225-319X)，是一本同行评议的英文国际性学术期刊，双月刊，重点报道心胸外科手术的最新进展，由AME Publishing Company以印刷版和网络版的形式同时出版发行。ACS杂志每期选择一个热点话题，邀请20余位国际知名专家针对同一个话题，发表自己的经验和见解，旨在对同一主题作关键性分析和全面的概述，包括有争议的讨论。每期专题包括系统评价和/或荟萃分析（Systematic Review and/or Meta Analysis），特色文章，研究热点，观点评述，图文并茂的文章，心胸外科大师手术视频（读者使用iPhone或iPad等终端设备扫描印刷版本上的二维码，直接可以跳转到对应网页，观看手术视频录像），手术并发症及处理，和ACS科普长廊（以科普的语言向患者介绍新技术新方法）。
Journal of Thoracic Disease(JTD)《胸部疾病杂志》是第一本来自亚太地区的关于胸部疾病的国际性英文医学期刊。2009年创刊，2011年进入PubMed，并于2013年2月份被SCI收录。《胸部疾病杂志》主要刊登胸部疾病临床研究领域的最新研究成果和经验（包括肺部疾病，心脏疾病，食管疾病，及其它胸部疾病），国内外的最新研究动态与进展，以及与临床密切相关的基础理论研究等。读者对象为胸部疾病领域广大的研究工作者和相关的医药卫生工作者。杂志内容以原创论文，个案报告，临床研究实录等有着重大指导和研究意义的文章为特色，其中不乏精湛的手术视频。JTD于2013年11月与中国哮喘联盟（China Asthma Alliance）正式建立了合作关系。JTD被列为广州呼吸疾病研究所，国家呼吸疾病重点实验室，广州医科大学第一附属医院，胸部疾病学会的官方杂志。
“ACS - JTD - COVIDIEN 创世智能胸腔镜肺叶切除手术录像大赛”视频评判优劣的出发点是：该视频是否可有助于推动胸腔镜肺叶切除技术的发展。参赛作品将按以下四点标准进行评价，每项为25分，总分100分：原创性、视频质量、视频展示的教育价值、文本描述的清晰度。10位选手脱颖最终而出，将分别被授予Award of Excellence，Award of Best Demonstration，Award of Great Potential，Award of Rising Star 奖项（见正文结尾图片）。获奖作品将作以专题形式在JTD杂志上发表。

专业评审团由12名国内外著名心胸外科专家组成，包括来自西班牙的Diego Gonzalez-Rivas、美国的Mark K. Ferguson、意大利的Eugenio Pompeo、法国的Dominique Gossot、澳大利亚的Gavin M. Wright等专家。
1. Diego Gonzalez-Rivas, MD, FECTS
Department of Thoracic Surgery, Coruña University Hospital, Coruña, Spain
Dr. Diego Gonzalez Rivas is a graduate of Santiago de Compostela University and the College of Physicians & Surgeons of Coruña University (MD). He received training in General Surgery, Thoracic Surgery, and lung transplantation at Coruña University Hospital.
After completing a year working in Santiago University Hospital joined the faculty at Coruña Hospital and is currently Thoracic Surgeon in Coruña University center and an active member of lung transplantation program (about 40 cases performed per year). He is the creator of minimally invasive thoracic surgery Unit working at Coruña hospital, Quiron Hospital, San Rafael and Modelo medical center. Actually he works in these 4 medical hospitals at Coruña city.
Dr Gonzalez Rivas serves on several editorial boards, he is reviewer of many scientific journals and he is the organizer of the annual meeting of Spanish society of thoracic surgery (SECT) during the next four years. He also collaborates with educational activities of European Society (ESTS). He is a board European certificated surgeon since 2010 (FECTS). He started to perform VATS lobectomies in 2007 after learning the technique at Cedars Sinai. After 100 major resections performed he visited Duke medical center to learn the double port technique with Dr Thomas Damico. Once experience was gained with this technique he evolved to single-port approach.
He was pioneer surgeon in the world performing uniportal VATS lobectomies (first case in June 2010) and he has published several papers describing this procedure and the results in the most important medical journals and textbooks of thoracic surgery.
2. Dominique Gossot (Paris, France) MD
Dominique is the current Head of the Thoracic Department at the Institut Mutualiste Montsouris hospital in Paris, France. He received his basic medical and advanced surgical training at Paris VI University. Dominique’s primary clinical focus is the development of advanced thoracic endoscopic techniques and technological developments in minimally invasive surgery. As a prolific academic surgeon, he has published more than 148 papers with over 81 as first author, as well as the renowned textbook: Atlas of endoscopic major pulmonary resections, Springer-Verlag 2010. Additionally, Dominique is on the Editorial Board for Surgical Endoscopy, the official journal of the Society of American Gastrointestinal and Endoscopic Surgeons, as well as the journals Minimally Invasive Therapy & Allied Technologies and Computer Aided Surgery. He also has concurrent memberships in the Society of Thoracic Surgeons (STS), European Association for Cardiothoracic Surgery (EACTS), European Association of Endoscopic Surgery (EAES) and the Société Française de Chirurgie Thoracique et Cardio-Vasculaire (SFCTCV).
3. Yau-Lin Tseng, MD, PhD
Dr. Tseng is current the associate professor of Medical College, National Cheng Kung University and the surgeon of Institute of Clinical Medicine, National Cheng Kung University Hospital. Besides, he is also the Advisory editor of Journal:Thoracic medicine (The official journal of Taiwan society of pulmonary and critical care medicine)
His Clinical Interests are Corrosive injury, Minimal invasive surgery (cancer of lung and esophagus),Thymoma, Tuberculosis and Transplantation
He got Young Investigator Award (American Transplant Congress): Fifth Joint Meeting of the American Society of Transplant Surgeons and American Society of Transplantation in 2004. In the same year, he also got the awards of Best free paper of Transplantation society of Taiwan. In 2007, he got the award of excellent publication of the year (Surgery): Cheng-hsing Medical Foundatio
4. Luca Bertolaccini, MD, PhD
Dr. Bertolaccini is a Consultant Thoracic Surgeon at Division of Thoracic Surgery – S. Croce e Carle Hospital of Cuneo (IT). He is also a Lecturer of the University of Turin (IT).
He is a member of European Society of Thoracic Surgeons, European Respiratory Society, Royal Society of Statistics, American Physical Society, and Scandinavian Society for Research in Cardiothoracic Surgery.
The areas of Dr. Bertolaccini’s research interest are Minimally Invasive Thoracic Surgery and Advanced Statistics Models in Medicine
5. Eugenio Pompeo, MD, PhD, FETCS
Dr. Pompeo is from Department of Thoracic Surgery, Tor Vergata University, Rome, Italy.
Dr. Pompeo is current Associate Professor of Tor Vergata University. He is the Fellow of the European Board of Thoracic and Cardiovascular Surgery.
The main areas of Dr. Pompeo’s research interests are Esophageal Surgery, Mediastinal tumors, Lung Cancer, Video-Assisted Thoracoscopic Surgery.
6. Marcin Zielinski, M.D.
Dr. Zielinski is the surgeon of Department of Thoracic Surgery, Pulmonary Hospital, Zakopane, Poland.
His clinical interests are Esophageal surgery, Surgery of the Mediastinum, Myasthenia gravis and Broncho-angio-plastic procedures
7. Mark K. Ferguson, MD
Dr. Ferguson specializes in the surgical management of diseases of the lungs, esophagus and thymus. He is experienced in all techniques of lung and esophageal resection, and is skilled in surgical methods to relieve airway obstruction and malignant pleural effusions. He has served on the boards and committees of numerous national societies and institutions including the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and the National Institutes of Health (NIH).
Dr. Ferguson is the author of more than 85 chapters in medical textbooks. He has edited or written books on esophageal reconstructive surgery, failed anti-reflux therapy, and decision-making in thoracic surgery that has been published in four languages. He authored an atlas of general thoracic surgery. Dr. Ferguson has also written more than 250 papers or abstracts in medical journals, serves as deputy editor for a cardiothoracic surgery journal, and is on the board of three other journals.
His research interests include risk analysis, long-term outcomes after lung resection and esophageal resection, development of simulation methods for surgical training, and advanced techniques in surgical education.
8. Gavin Michael Wright, F.R.A.C.S.
Dr. Gavin M. Wright (is Clinical Associate Professor of University of Melbourne; Executive Member in Division of Surgery, St Vincent’s Hospital; and Management Advisory Committee of Western & Central Metropolitan Integrated Cancer Service. He is also Fellow of Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (RACS).
Dr. Gavin Michael Wright is specialized in General Thoracic Surgery. His main research interests are Thoracoscopic surgery (VATS Lobectomy & Thymectomy), Thoracic Surgical Oncology,VATS LV lead placement, Hand-assisted procedures and NSCLC.
9. Khalid Amer, FRCS(C Th)
Dr. Amer is the surgeon from Department of Cardiothoracic Surgery of Southampton University Hospitals NHS Trust.
His main clinical interests are VATS Thymectomy, VATS Major Pulmonary Resections,Post thoracotomy pain,VATS Systematic Nodal Dissection and Carcinoid tumours.
As the consultant thoracic surgeon, Mr Khalid Amer has been internationally commended for his contribution to the development of keyhole surgery to treat early stage lung cancer.
Over the past four years Mr Amer has worked with colleagues to develop a technique called video-assisted thoracoscopic surgery (VATS) lobectomy. The results of the four year study have recently been published in the International Society for Minimally Invasive Cardiothoracic Surgery (ISMICS) journal “Innovations”.
At present Mr Amer is amongst a minority of surgeons who perform this surgery in the UK, due to the intricate skills which are required.
10. C.S. Pramesh, MD.
Dr. Pramesh is the professor and chief in Thoracic Surgery of Department of Surgical Oncology at Tata Memorial Hospital, Mumbai, India.
He is specialized in cancer, minimally invasive surgery and surgical oncology.
11. Kumud Kumar Dhital, FRCS, PhD.
Dr. Dhital is a surgeon from Department of Cardiothoracic Surgery of St Vincent’s Hospital, Darlinghurst, Australia. He is specialized in the area of General Thoracic Surgery and Adult Cardiac Surgery.
The clinical interests of Dr. Dhital are Mechanical assist devices, Pulmonary Endarterectomy, ECMO and Cardio-Pulmonary Transplantation.
12. Ryan M. Levy, MD (Surgical Oncology)
Ryan M. Levy, MD, is a thoracic surgeon at UPMC Cancer Center. Dr. Levy specializes in minimally invasive esophageal surgery, minimally invasive lung surgery, esophageal cancer, lung cancer, gastric cancer, gastroesophageal reflux disease, paraesophageal hernias, diaphragm hernias, lung nodules/masses, endoscopic management of Barrett's esophagus and esophageal cancer, diseases of the pleura, mediastinal tumors, tracheal disorders, and inflammatory responses to tissue injury.
Dr. Levy is board-certified in general surgery. He received an undergraduate degree at The University of Notre Dame in Ind., and a medical degree at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine. Dr. Levy has completed residencies in both general surgery and cardiothoracic surgery at UPMC, as well as an advanced minimally invasive thoracic surgery fellowship under Dr. James Luketich at UPMC. Following his training, Dr. Levy spent three years as Dr. Luketichs partner at UPMC Presbyterian and Hillman Cancer Center.
Dr. Levy is a member of professional organizations, including Society of American Gastrointestinal and Endoscopic Surgeons, Society of Thoracic Surgeons, American College of Surgeons, American Medical Association, and the Allegheny County Medical Society.
