编者按:华西 2015 国际食管疾病论坛(West China 2015 Forum on Esophagology) 于 9 月 20 日在四川成都顺利举行。在本次会议中,我们有幸采访到了香港大学玛丽医院(Queen Mary Hospital)的罗英杰(Simon YK Law)教授。Simon YK Law 教授是香港大学玛丽医院食管肠胃外科主任,国际食管疾病学会(ISDE) 第 14 届国际会议主席,其研究兴趣主要集中在上消化道疾病,尤其在食管癌和胃癌方面。

专家介绍

Simon YK LAW, MBBChir (Cantab), MS (HK), MA, FRCSEd, FCSHK, FHKAM, FACS,Cheung Kung-Hai Professor of Gastrointestinal Surgery, Chief, Division of Esophageal and Upper Gastrointestinal Surgery, Department of Surgery, The University of Hong Kong, Queen Mary Hospital, Hong Kong.

Simon Law graduated from the University of Cambridge in England in 1987 with First Class Honors and completed his clinical curriculum at the same university. He received his post-graduate training at The University of Hong Kong. He became Clinical Professor in Surgery in 2005. He is currently Cheung Kung-Hai Professor in Gastrointestinal Surgery, and Chief of the Division of Esophageal and Upper Gastrointestinal Surgery at The University of Hong Kong.

Professor Law has concentrated his experience and research in upper gastrointestinal tract disorders, with emphasis on esophageal and gastric cancers, motility disorders and gastro-esophageal reflux disease. He has focused on endoscopic diagnostic and treatment techniques on foregut diseases, surgical methods including minimally invasive and robot-assisted surgery, and multimodality treatments of esophageal and gastric cancers.

He is a council member of the College of Surgeons of Hong Kong. He plays an active role in many international societies, holding positions such as Executive Council Member of the International Society of Digestive Surgery (ISDS), Asia Representative of the Member Services Committee of the Society for Surgeons of the Alimentary Tract (SSAT). He is the current Secretary of the Hong Kong China Chapter of the American College of Surgeons.

Professor Law has published over 400 articles and abstracts, and 30 book chapters, including those in Mastery of Surgery, Maingot’s Abdominal Operations, Pearson’s Thoracic and Esophageal Surgery and Shackelford’s Surgery of the Alimentary Tract. He is associate editor of the Diseases of the Esophagus, and editor to other leading surgical publications such as Annals of Surgery, Surgery, JAMA Surgery, and World Journal of Surgery. Professor Law is also the Editorial Board Member of the journal Translational Gastrointestinal Cancer (TGC).
